Child Aid Papua has achieved important milestones in expanding its infrastructure over the past few months: the opening of new sanitary facilities with a sustainable wastewater system, and the construction of the girls’ dormitory, which will soon provide space for 32 students. The internship placements of our students are showing impact, while international exchanges and partnerships—extending even to potential scholarships in Bulgaria—are strengthening the future prospects of our students.
‘WHAT WE LEARN' is a compelling eight-part documentary series that shines light on the struggles of disadvantaged children worldwide. The series emphasises the pivotal role education plays in breaking the cycle of poverty and shaping children’s futures.
A great deal happened at our school in Raja Ampat during the fourth quarter of 2025. With the English Contest, the year-end celebration, the film premiere, and the Christmas markets in Switzerland, it was a quarter full of challenges—both literal and figurative—but also full of joy, recognition, and visible progress for our students as well as for the development of the entire school.
Jonas Müller lives where others go on vacation. The former economist from Glarus has built a new home for himself in the heart of the Indonesian diving paradise, Raja Ampat. In a village largely untouched by tourism, the 28-year-old is teaching local children about nature conservation and sustainable development.

Summer 2025 reached its peak with the new school year. The doors opened not only for our existing trainees but also for 18 new students whom we were delighted to welcome into our community.
It is becoming clear that ChildAid Papua, as a pioneering school in the province, is gaining recognition not only regionally but now also on a national level. For us, this recognition is not just a validation, but a clear mandate to continue our path with responsibility and foresight.
After a well-deserved break, we have kicked off the new year with great momentum. The children returned with renewed energy, and our 11th grade is already in the thick of a very special adventure: the internship in Bali, which we announced in our last newsletter, is now in full swing.

Unser Motto der vergangenen Monate... Unsere Auszubildenden haben nicht nur über die Grenzen des eigenen Klassenzimmers hinaus mit anderen Kindern zusammengearbeitet, sondern sich sogar im internationalen Wettbewerb gegen SchülerInnen und Schüler aus aller Welt behauptet.
